The Trinity Forum
Science, Faith, and Truth

“Science without religion is lame;
religion without science is blind.”

Albert Einstein

The Trinity Forum proposes a three-year project to develop a seminar curriculum on the interplay of science, faith, and the humanities targeted at pastors and campus ministry and parachurch leaders. We want to help them engage constructively with people in the sciences by providing a common text that is grounded in the common language of the humanities. This curriculum and its supporting print, audio, and Internet materials will be tested, modeled, and disseminated through a series of the Trinity Forum’s expertly moderated discussion forums. During the project an initial symposium and six discussion forums will reach more than a hundred key scientists and ministry leaders. Through these leaders, and through other strategic partnerships, we expect an impact that will continue to expand well after the project formally ends.

We aim to equip ministry leaders to better understand the history and philosophy of science and their implications for applied science; shed light on the role the Christian faith and its view of reason has played in the development of scientific thought and method; and encourage apprecia-tion of the way science pursues truth and the relation of those claims to the truth claims made by religion.

With our staff supported by a Core Team of consultants including Dan Cho, Francis Collins, Luder Whitlock, Dallas Willard, and Don Yerxa, we are confident that our project will be successful in both reaching and impacting our target audience.
